A fun suprise!

On our way to take the kids to the movies last night, we decided to grab some quick McEe D's. And what fun surprise should we see? ...Well, one that looked like this!

This family was doing a fund raiser for a different family who I believe lives near our area. Sadly, their house burnt down last month. So, were much obliged to help them raise some funds. We bribe the kids to finish the hangerburs and fries so that the could go for a quick spin around the grassy knoll twice....before heading off to our Movie.

They had soooooooo much fun. Eden was grinning from ear to ear the entire time she rode her miniature pony. Tex looked so grown up sitting so proud all by himself.

what's new..let's talk about the zoo!

Hmmmmm.... I know I have a million pictures I can post. Which ones should I choose?

Oh, here we go. I forgot I made these collages the other day, and it's perfect timing, cause the boy just stumbled out of his room. I love watching him walk out every morning, with his swollen eyes all squinted up because the sunlight is too bright. And his crooked little yawn. Ok, no real story here....we just like to go to the zoo, and we go a lot! Maybe I'll add a few pictures from the time we were there just last week with some friends! We stayed for a while, and even paid $6.75 to enjoy 2 chicken strips and 20 french fries. Our house was depleted of it's food source. I literally fed my kids chocolate frosting sandwiches (wheat bread of course, cause I do have some standards) for breakfast as we walked out the door. But, hey...it's possibly still better than a pop tart right?

Oh, and I forgot I had these other pictures from my phone, a ways back when. Probably 9 months ago? The Baboon walked down from his perch and walked right up to the glass to check out Eden, who enjoyed checking him out just as much.

The trip...where it all began

Sadly, I erased my pictures from the first half of our trip when I loaded my card onto my mom's computer. But, I was able to steal a few that she had put on walgreens and FB...thank you internet!

My kids did well, considering we had to drive ourselves to the airport. It took us 2 trips from our car into the airport to get everything checked in. We first checked the car seats, then walked back out to collect all our baggage. I remember checking to make sure I had EVERYTHING out of the car, because I was supposed to lock the keys inside on purpose so Jonathon could get the car after his meeting.
We made it through security, and they played with their toys nicely, and their new stuffed doggies, some blocks, and ate their McD's fries before we boarded the plane. A sweet lady helped me get through the agriculture check just before boarding the plane, and helped us to get to our seats. Eden was an ANGEL for 95% of the flight. Tex, he tested my patience for the most part. That boy knows how to throw a tantrum. I don't recall who slept, or when. I know it wasn't me. I may have been able to listen to part of the in flight movie...though now I don't remember what it was. Eden put together this puzzle nearly by herself. The one time I remember loosing it was when Eden accidentally spilled her lazagna all over the floor. Tex had worn me down by this point, and I was soooo ready to get off the plane and still had hours and hours to go. I felt really bad because she had been so good.

For the most part they watched movies on their player. We allow Eden to have a binky on the plane. Not only does it help her ears, it's her vice. It keeps her oh so mellow.

Oh yes....now I remember who slept. Eden fell asleep 40 minutes before we landed. Tex, he fell asleep as we touched down. And I could not wake either of them. I had to be helped off the plane by like 3 attendants. ;-)We finally made it to baggage claim, and I was so proud of myself for paying some guy with a big cart on wheels to get my suitcase, 4 carryons, and 2 car seats from the baggage claim and wheel them out to my mom's car. I NEVER pay for anything like this, but I am sure glad I did this time. My arms were going to fall off.

Here we are
I think it was almost 1 in the morning by the time we arrived. Grandma met us there with hugs and a bag of veggie straws in the car. We loaded up and headed to her house!

Eden was pretty stoked to see that big basket of candy canes waiting on the table for her.

A few new pets

My poor kids...They are dying for a pet. Eden has even resorting to catching flies, yes flies for her pets. She can catch them in mid air. Kind of like this guy.

Well, when we returned to Hawaii, a family of 4 toads had moved into our back yard. And Eden didn't skip a beat. She carried them around everywhere (outside), and her side kick followed her everywhere. Over the next few days, they eventually dissappeared...suprise, suprise. But, they sure had fun while they were here.

It shi shi'd on her....though the picture portrays her as sad, she was really just kinda grossed out and dissapointed. Hi there little toad. ;-)

We're Back!!!

Ya, I know....it's not news anymore, since we have been back for nearly 2 months now. I can't believe how much time has flown since our loooooooong and wonderful vacation. We've now been back for as many weeks as we were gone, and I am finally getting around to writing about it.
We were happy to have our Dad back, and the kids were ready to get to the ocean. Since I hadn't slept in the past 24 hours + and had survived a 6 hour flight with 2 kids...Jonathon allowed me a nap on the couch while he and the kids headed to the beach. When I joined up with them, this is what I found. And like I said, we are back....

Back to crab catching And back to being silly...like putting crabs in our hair on purpose. ;-)Back to sea glass collecting back to exploring

And back into the swing of things
